Bit irritating for canmakers that the drinks carton industry projects a Green image ...when its recycling rates fall well behind those of both steel and alu cans....Until this summer (2013) and since 2006 any cartons collected in UK had to be shipped to Sweden for reprocessing the complex mix of card and plastics (imagine the carbon footprint!)...At least things will improve somewhat as Terta Pak just confirmed that..." I am pleased to confirm that an agreement has been signed and that a UK based carton recycling facility will be commissioned in the summer (2013).  The carton recycling scheme is managed by ACE UK (UK Beverage Carton Trade Association).
